Once inside you are welcomed
by an amply filled exhibition of various makes and types of
scooter, a wooden floor which together with the bar and the
advertisements for Belgian beers evokes the atmosphere of
some grand watering hole – and, of course, the classic
motorcycles being offered for sale.
There was a good range of
stuff on offer, from a number of flat tankers to present-day
grand tourers. Prices were generally around the same as in
the Netherlands, though the scooters were quite pricey. Still,
scooters are going up in Holland too. As always there were
some interesting items to be found, but you had to look. Unfortunately
it could have been a bit busier, and we gathered the Saturday
had been quite quiet too. A good reason to make sure you go
next time to taste that distinctly different atmosphere!
The next Moto-Retro is on
14 and 15 February 2004 and will include an expo on "Harley
versus Indian -
The Early Years".
